Department of traumatology and orthopedics
History of traumatology and orthopedics service development in Khorezm region Providing specialized traumatological care to patients in Khorezm region has been operating since 1954 in the surgical department of the current regional multidisciplinary medical center. E.I.Hajiev was appointed to be in charge of traumatological patients. At that time, I. Umarov contributed to traumatology and orthopedics service. He graduated from the Samarkand Medical Institute in 1954, in 1958 he completed his clinical residency at the Tashkent Research Institute of Traumatology and Orthopedics, then he began working as the chief traumatologist of the Khorezm regional health department and a traumatologist at the regional hospital. . I. Umarov died in November 1961. In the 1960s, the surgery department was located in a narrow building, but in the general surgery department, patients from all fields (surgery, urology, neurosurgery, traumatology, ENT, eye diseases, burn patients) were admitted and operated in very difficult conditions. gave During these times, traffic accidents, agricultural and family injuries increased. At the same time, medicine among the people has developed widely, and the level of disability has also increased as a complication of them. This situation required the establishment of a specialized traumatology department. This was the request of the Research Institute of Traumatology and Orthopedics of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Ministry of Health. On June 16, 1964, a 30-bed traumatology department was established in the new building of the Khorezm regional hospital, and E.I. Hajiev was appointed the head of the department. Later, A. Mahmudov and A. Lee started working in this department. E. I. Hajiev was transferred to the position of deputy chief physician in September 1965. Then, from September 1965 to 1971, the department of traumatology was headed by A. Mahmudov.
In December 1966, a 24-hour trauma center (travpunkt) was established, and it was headed by traumatologist Lee Alexey. In 1971-1974, Lena, Polyakov, and Kaplan plates were used for fractures of the femur and other bones. In 1975-1983, when R.H. Hasanboev was the head of the traumatology department, the Ilizarov apparatus was used in practice. Ilizarov's introduction of the apparatus into practice made a big turn in the field of traumatology. In 1975-1980, R.H. Hasanboev, K. Ollaberganov, K. Masharipov, and Q. Boboev studied the practical application of the Ilizarov apparatus at the Kurgan Research Institute of Traumatology and Orthopedics named after Ilizarov and were among the first to use it in Khorezm region. Before that, before Ilizarov's apparatus was put into practice, injured patients were sentenced to stay in the hospital for 2-3 months. After these practical works, the level of disability in the field of traumatology has also decreased dramatically. In 1983-1985, Q. Boboev worked as a department head. In 1985-2000, the department was joined by Ph.D. led by associate professor K. Masharipov, and on his initiative, compression syrups for fractures of the femur from the neck, Stergen devices for fractures of tubular bones, "bone transplantation with blood vessels" for the treatment of false joints of broken bones, shoulder bone surgery in children He was one of the first in the Khorezm region to implement osteosynthesis operations with the help of Illizarov apparatus half rings in intervertebral fractures. In 2000, after the establishment of the Regional Emergency Medical Center, t.f.n. Associate Professor K. Masharipov was appointed as the head of the emergency traumatology department of this center. For many years, he worked as the leading traumatologist of the regional emergency medical center and the chief traumatologist of the Khorezm region and cured many patients.
In 1990, the field of orthopedics was separated from the traumatology department of the hospital and was established as an independent 30-bed department. B.A. Bobojonov was appointed as the head of the department. Since 1975, M.SH.Saftiyorov was appointed as the head of the department. During 1975-2017, M.SH.Saftiyarov worked as the head of the department of traumatology and orthopedics. He created a unique twist in the field of traumatology and orthopedics, he searched tirelessly, read a lot of scientific literature and worked on himself day and night. Congenital cleft palate, congenital dislocation of the femoral head, children's cerebral palsy, etc. he recommended and applied his methods in the treatment of diseases by surgical method. M.SH.Saftiyarov was a supporter of treating patients in the field of traumatology and orthopedics using less invasive methods. Currently, M.SH.Saftiyarov is mentoring hundreds of students. In 2018-2021, E.A. Ismailov worked as the head of the department of traumatology and orthopedics. During his tenure, the level of traumatological and orthopedic services to patients was further improved, an arthroscope was brought to the department and its activities were started. From May 2021, the Department of Traumatology and Orthopedics of the Khorezm Regional Multidisciplinary Medical Center began to operate as the Khorezm branch of the Republican Specialized Traumatology and Orthopedic Scientific and Applied Medical Center. From this period, R.A. Bekmetov was appointed to the position of head of the branch. The branch consisted of a total of 33 places. R.A. Bekmetov was one of the first to implement endoprosthesis of large joints in the field of regional traumatology. Despite his young age, he is a sought-after and demanding employee. Currently, he is conducting scientific research on the topic "Morphology and morphometry of the hip joint in post-traumatic arthrosis". Currently, many young scientists, professors and teachers of the department, masters and clinical rectors are working in the branch.
