A NEW PAGE IN KHOREZM MEDICINE: THE FIRST LIVER TRANSPLANT OPERATION IN THE REGION WAS SUCCESSFULLY PERFORMED

Every action aimed at saving human life is history. Some events determine not only the fate of one person, but also the fate of the entire medical system of the region. Yesterday, such an event happened in our region - the first successful liver transplant operation was performed. This, in turn, is a bright result of the humanitarian policy implemented in our country and the development of modern medicine. Rano Matyakubova, 54, from the Koshkopir district, had been battling cirrhosis of the liver for several years. The disease had reached a terminal stage, and a liver transplant was recommended as the only way out. The family decided to take Rana to India. However, not everyone could afford the surgery in India. The family did not stop looking for opportunities. They approached the heads of the regional multidisciplinary medical center and asked for advice. The words of the center's officials: "We will start a liver transplant in the near future. If you want, we can perform the procedure for sister Rana right here," encouraged the family members. An 8-hour, highly complex liver transplantation operation was successfully completed by experienced surgeons from the Khorezm Regional Multidisciplinary Medical Center, led by Jasur Sobirov, Deputy Director of the Republican National Medical Center. Currently, the health of both the donor and the patient is stable and under the supervision of doctors.
